exception to the rule

I'm one of those food snobs who never stops whining about how bad Mexican food is in NYC. Sorry. Pio Maya is one of the exceptions. It's not drop-dead amazing, but the prices are great, the service is speedy, and it's pretty darned tasty. Mind you, I really only get the super veggie taco and the shrimp taco (in the photo), so my perspective is limited. Then again, why fool with success? I know what I like here, and did I mention it's close to my train home? If it wasn't for the convenience, I'd probably whine about the W. 8th Street location. Remember when 8th Street was actually cool? Yeah, like 20 years ago.
